Southern DHB is responsible for planning, funding, and providing all publicly funded health care services for the Southern district.
We have hospitals in Dunedin, Wakari (Dunedin), Invercargill, and Queenstown. We also contract health services from rural hospitals, our primary health organization, pharmacies, aged residential care facilities, and much more.
Southern DHB is governed by a board that includes elected members and members appointed by the Minister of Health. Its operations are led by an Executive Leadership Team and it is advised by a Clinical Council, as well as the other advisory bodies of the Southern Health system.
